How to Contact UNHCR (from Ukraine and from abroad)

UNHCR provides information and guidance to refugees, asylum-seekers, internally displaced people (IDPs), returnees, and war affected people seeking support in Ukraine.

If You Are in Ukraine

You can contact the UNHCR Helpline through the following channels:

If you are abroad and plan to return to Ukraine

  • Your full name
  • A valid phone number, including the country code
  • Your current country of residence
  • Topic of inquiry

What Happens Next?

Step 1. Submit the online request form.

Step 2. A UNHCR Helpline operator reviews your request.

Step 3. You will receive a call during the Helpline’s working hours.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00-18:00 (Kyiv time)

Calls are free of charge. A Helpline operator will contact you using the phone number provided in your request.

The UNHCR Helpline can provide information and individual counselling on:

  • Support provided by UNHCR and partner organizations
  • Legal and documentation related issues
  • Governmental services available in Ukraine
  • Return to Ukraine and reintegration
