People with disabilities and older persons may face barriers in accessing services and assistance on the same basis as others. UNHCR works to ensure that all displaced people regardless of their age, gender or other characteristics can access our support.

The programme targets persons with disabilities, older persons, as well as their family members and caregivers. The programme aims to provide safe and multidisciplinary care while promoting independence and better inclusion of persons with disability and older persons within their family and community at large.
Some persons with specific needs receive assistive medical devices, which includes but is not limited to crutches, wheelchairs, etc. Strict eligibility criteria apply.
