Outreach Volunteers (ORVs) Program

UNHCR and its partners has Outreach Volunteers (ORVs) inside UNHCR community centres to help the  communities and link them to the available services, strengthen community engagement and ensure that all people of different population groups have access to services and information available within their communities.

For more information, please reach out to the nearest community center in your area.

How it works?

Purpose

ORVs will serve as representatives of their own communities, they are also vital links between affected communities and community centres, helping to share information, identify needs, and support access to services.

Selection

Each community centre will have a team of 20–35 ORVs selected from the communities the centre serves. The ORVs are selected from different age, gender and diverse population groups.

Diversity & Inclusion

    • 50% female and 50% male volunteers.
    • Age groups: 20–35, 35–55, and 55+.
    • Inclusive of all social, ethnic, educational, and religious backgrounds.
    • The ORV teams include persons with disabilities and believe in their abilities.

Training & Support

The ORVs will receive comprehensive training on various topics, along with support to effectively carry out their tasks.

Incentives

The ORVs will receive incentives only to cover transportation and communication fees.
