Recent global developments have significantly impacted funding for humanitarian and development organizations. This reduction is affecting UNHCR globally, in all countries where we work. UNHCR’s ability to provide assistance, protection, and solutions for all individuals in need is decreasing globally. However, we continue to advocate with donors and other stakeholders, including the private sector, to mobilize additional funding.
⚠️ Alert: UNHCR Syria DOES NOT provide Resettlement to Syrians.

UNHCR Syria is updating its registration records and data of all refugees and asylum-seekers registered with us.
UNHCR regularly reviews its data of refugees and asylum-seekers to ensure that they are up to date. This allows us to plan and implement our activities and programmes effectively.
On 31st of March 2025, UNHCR Syria will inactivate all refugees and asylum-seekers with UNHCR ID cards that are expired before 31 December 2024.
Once your record is inactivated you will not be able to receive assistance from UNHCR, such as cash assistance (if you are eligible), or other government services.
If your UNHCR ID card is expired for 3 or more months, please contact the UNHCR registration centre nearest to you on the numbers below and you will be given an appointment to renew your ID card.
Only those with ID cards that expired 3 or more months ago will be inactivated on 31st of March. However, you are still encouraged to contact UNHCR offices to renew your ID card as you might be inactivated in future exercises if your card is still expired.
Only individuals with expired ID cards will be affected. If your ID card is valid, your record will remain active, but your family members’ records will be inactivated.
Please contact your UNHCR office for information on your individual case.
Yes, your record can be reactivated after an assessment of your case by UNHCR staff. However, you are encouraged not to wait until your record is inactivated as there might be delays in reactivating your case, and you might miss out on services and assistance during that period.
Please contact your UNHCR office and inform them of your specific circumstances and they will advise you accordingly.
All services offered by UNHCR are offered free of charge.
