Psycho-social support

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, UNHCR provides psycho-social support through its local NGO partner, the Bosnia and Herzegovina Women’s Initiative (BHWI), which offers a range of services to asylum-seekers and refugees, including: 

  • Psycho-social support; 
  • Organization of social, recreational and occupational therapy activities; 
  • Support for the education of asylum-seekers, individuals under international protection and the Ukrainians under Temporary Residence on Humanitarian Grounds; 
  • Interpretation and transportation services for official services; 
  • Assistance to access some health services.

Please note that BHWI is present on duty at several reception centres in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the Ušivak and Blažuj Temporary Reception Centres, the Salakovac Refugee Reception Centre, and the Delijaš Asylum Centre.
