- Vaccination shall be available per ?age group -i.e., from older to younger individuals- and by risk, diseases, preexisting conditions, and high-risk jobs.
- People will no longer have to “book” their vaccination appointments.
- The dates on which each age-group can be vaccinated will be communicated through official sources, digital platforms of the Ministerio de Salud Pública (Ministry of Public Health), and media weeks in advance. You can check the dates here: Schedule.

UNHCR is working together with the national government to ensure that individuals without an Ecuadorian ID card can access the registration process for vaccination. Stay informed through official channels.
Which institutions are authorized to vaccinate people?
Until May 2021, the ONLY institutions authorized to vaccinate people are the Ministerio de Salud Pública (Ministry of Public Health) and the Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social (Ecuadorian Social Security Institute). No other institution is authorized to sell vaccines or vaccinate people.
Does the vaccine have a cost?

Will a COVID-19 vaccination certificate be required for travel?
At the moment, a certificate of this type has not been defined for travel. It is hoped that the different States and especially the Ecuadorian State within the framework of its Constitution will be able to guarantee the right to migrate (Art. 37) and the right to asylum and refuge (Art. 41).
However, it is important to note that in some countries the vaccination certificate for travelling and other state procedures are being applied.
