All services provided by UNHCR and its partners are free of charge. If anyone asks for payment for services, report it immediately to UNHCR or its partners.

Partners such as SDF (Sana’a), FMF (Aden), and HA (Marib) offer:

  • Case management.
  • Counselling.
  • Cash assistance for specific needs.
  • Referrals for legal and health services.

What if I have a safety concern as a woman in Yemen?

UNHCR partners specialize in supporting refugee women and addressing safety concerns. You can contact:

If you believe your child is at risk, you can:

  • Visit SDF in Sana’a or FMF/HA in Aden.
  • Report your concerns to staff, who will help refer you to appropriate services and support based on your needs.

Can I receive cash assistance?

Cash assistance is provided on an exceptional basis to address immediate protection needs. It is not a long-term solution for income support. For more information, refer to the Cash Assistance section.

Can I be referred for additional services?

Yes, with your consent, you may be referred to other services based on your needs, such as:

  • Health support, including gynaecological and maternity care.
  • Mental health and counselling services.
  • Legal assistance.

Can I receive services if my ID card is expired?

No, you must have an active registration record and a valid ID card or UNHCR certificate to access services.

  • To renew your ID card:
    • Sana’a: Visit the Bureau of Refugee Affairs (BRA).
    • Aden:
      • Asylum-seekers: Contact UNHCR.
      • Refugees: Contact IPNA.
