What are community-led projects and how can I participate in them?

Community-led projects are initiatives designed and implemented by communities to improve living conditions, protection, and dignity within and around the site. These projects can address needs related to water, sanitation, hygiene, health, education, livelihoods, and social cohesion.

To participate, contact CCCM, the site committee, or other humanitarian actors to learn about available opportunities.

I am a member of a community-based organization or NGO and want to support a site where IDPs are living. How can I do that?

The CCCM sector welcomes community-based Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) or NGOs to support IDPs in hosting sites. To assist, you can contact the CCCM partner, which will advise you on needs, skills, and community priorities, and coordinate your efforts with other humanitarian actors to ensure alignment with humanitarian principles.

You can provide support by:

  • Offering social services to help IDPs cope and access their rights.
  • Providing technical expertise.
  • Delivering training and educational activities.
  • Raising awareness on key topics.
  • Creating livelihood opportunities.
  • Participating in advocacy efforts to highlight IDP needs.
