About UNHCR in Yemen

Who we are

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is the UN agency dedicated to protecting and assisting refugees, asylum-seekers, stateless individuals, and internally displaced persons (IDPs). In Yemen, UNHCR collaborates with partners to support these vulnerable groups and works alongside authorities to enhance the conditions of those affected by conflict and disasters.

Whom do we assist?

Individuals who have fled their country and are seeking asylum in another nation. Upon approval of their asylum application, they are granted refugee status.

Persons forced to leave their country due to persecution, armed conflict, or widespread violence, and have been granted asylum in another country.

Yemeni nationals forced to leave their homes because of armed conflict, disasters, or persecution, but who remain within Yemen’s borders.

Yemeni IDPs who choose to return to their homes or areas of origin.

All services provided by UNHCR and its partner services are FREE of charge!
