committed by forcibly displaced and stateless persons"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>What is fraud?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fraud is any action or failure to act that intentionally misleads someone to obtain a benefit, either for oneself or for someone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Forcibly displaced and stateless persons are at risk of being tricked by fraudsters, and some may commit fraud themselves.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-background has-fixed-layout\" style=\"background-color:#faeb00\"><tbody><tr><td>Important notice: <strong>UNHCR services are<\/strong> <strong>always free!<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Never pay<\/strong>&nbsp;for UNHCR registration, resettlement, or any other service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If someone asks for money, favors, or any form of payment,&nbsp;<strong>report it to UNHCR immediately<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any offer of UNHCR services in exchange for money is&nbsp;<strong>fraudulent<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Filing a complaint:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reporting fraud&nbsp;<strong>will not<\/strong>&nbsp;affect your case.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complaints can be made&nbsp;<strong>anonymously<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide all facts and evidence you have.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your report will be handled&nbsp;<strong>confidentially<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For trusted information, always consult UNHCR directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you suspect fraud, please report it involving&nbsp;<strong>both&nbsp;<\/strong>UNHCR staff or partners&nbsp;<strong>and&nbsp;<\/strong>forcibly displaced persons must also be reported to the IGO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you suspect&nbsp;<strong>other people committed fraud, including refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, or other individuals receiving assistance or 09:00\u201318:00)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Suspected fraud implicating forcibly displaced and stateless persons can include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Exploitation scheme<\/strong>: Schemes where individuals falsely claim to have special ties to UNHCR or other entities, to exploit others for monetary, sexual, or other benefits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Organized fraud:<\/strong>&nbsp;Fraud involving two or more individuals working together to commit fraud.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fraudulent or fraudulently used UNHCR-issued (or joint UNHCR and Government-issued) identity documents:<\/strong>&nbsp;Creating or using fake identity documents, or using someone else\u2019s identity documents as their own to misrepresent oneself.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Identity misappropriation:<\/strong>&nbsp;Using the identity of another individual or parts of it to register with UNHCR or obtain other benefit under that false identity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Other suspicious activities that may indicate fraud and should also be reported to
