No one has the right to compromise your safety and dignity, whether in the physical world or online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"has-x-large-font-size wp-block-heading\" id=\"stop-all-communication\" style=\"margin-bottom:0.2em\"><strong><strong>Stop all communication<\/strong><\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">When confronted with online violence, the <strong>immediate reaction should be to cease all communication with the aggressor<\/strong>. This can be a challenging step, especially if the perpetrator is someone you know or have trusted in the past. Block them across all platforms where they could potentially reach you \u2013 social media, email, and even your phone. It\u2019s a significant step towards reclaiming your safety and preventing further abuse.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"margin-bottom:2em\"><div class=\"wp-block-column\" style=\"background-color:#FFBCC1;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;padding-bottom:1px;margin-bottom:20px\"><div class=\"emoji is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"background-color:white;width:50px;border-radius:25px;text-align:center;line-height:50px;height:50px;font-size:28px;margin-bottom:16px\">?<\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"margin-bottom:0.2em\"><strong><strong>You can easily block someone on the different platforms:<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"list-style-type:none;padding-left:0;margin-left:0\">\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\" style=\"margin-bottom:12px\"><strong>Email Platforms (like Gmail)<\/strong>: Open an email from the sender, click on the three dots in the top right corner of the email, and select &#x27;Block &#8220;sender&#8221;&#x27;. Future emails from this sender will then go directly to your spam folder.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\" style=\"margin-bottom:12px\"><strong>Facebook<\/strong>: Go to the person&#x27;s profile, click on the &#x27;&#8230;&#x27; button next to the &#x27;Message&#x27; option, and select &#x27;Block&#x27;. This action will prevent the person from viewing your profile, adding you as a friend, or messaging you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\" style=\"margin-bottom:12px\"><strong>Instagram<\/strong>: Visit the person&#x27;s profile, tap the three dots in the upper right corner, and choose &#x27;Block&#x27;. Instagram also provides a &#x27;Restrict&#x27; feature, which is less severe than blocking. This documentation serves two purposes: it acts as a shield, reinforcing your experience&#x27;s validity, and can aid you if you choose to pursue legal action or report the violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"has-x-large-font-size wp-block-heading\" id=\"consider-seeking-help\" style=\"margin-bottom:0.2em\"><strong>Consider seeking<strong> help<\/strong><\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Isolation often amplifies the impact of online violence or abuse. It\u2019s vital to break this cycle by reaching out and talking to someone you trust. This could be a friend, family member, or even a professional. <strong>Partner organisations of UNHCR provide a variety of support mechanisms<\/strong> \u2013 from hotlines to counselling services \u2013 designed to help you navigate through the hard times. This function lets you flag content that violates the platform&#x27;s guidelines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\" style=\"margin-bottom:12px\"><strong>WhatsApp<\/strong>: To report a user, open the chat with the person, tap on their name at the top, scroll down, and select &#x27;Report Contact&#x27;.
