A person with specific needs (PSN) may be:

  • An unaccompanied or separated child
  • A person living with a Disability or a serious medical condition
  • An older person
  • A single parent
  • A woman at risk
  • Other people with specific needs and circumstances

What are the services and support available for Persons with Specific Needs (PSNs)?

UNHCR, in collaboration with partners, offers a range of support and assistance tailored to persons with disabilities, older persons at risk, and other individuals with specific needs. These services are designed to ensure the safety, well-being, and access to essential services for PSNs.

Support and Assistance:

  • Tailored Support Services: Targeted support according to your unique needs or those of your family or friend.
  • Access to Essential Services: Assistance in safely accessing necessary services within settlements.

Special Benefits for PSNs:

  • Distribution Support:
    • Priority and additional support during the distribution of food and non-food items.
    • Transportation assistance for easier access to necessary supplies.
  • Shelter Support:
    • Material and construction assistance for shelter needs.
  • Livelihood Opportunities:
    • Tailored livelihood options designed to suit their specific needs.

Follow-Up and Continuous Support:

  • Protection Partners’ Involvement: Continuous monitoring of PSNs’ situations to ensure safety and well-being.
