As a refugee and asylum seeker, you have a right to access legal remedies in the same way as Ugandan nationals in case of violation or disputes.
This can be through the conventional court or arbitration/mediation.
The duty to protect refugees and asylum seekers lies with the Government of Uganda. Refugees and asylum seekers also contribute towards their own security through community-based mechanisms and committees.
If you have suffered violence or injustice or need legal assistance with:
- Legal counselling
- Information on the laws of Uganda
- The court process
- Support to access courts
