Whether or not they can support your case will be up to their final decision according to their guidelines, policies and criteria.&nbsp; Please follow their guidance and recommendations for assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tzu Chi Clinic has <strong>primary care doctors<\/strong> who provide direct in-person or remote Telemedicine consultations and assistance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tzu Chi Clinic can make <strong>referrals and cover some outpatient medical care expenses<\/strong>, including medications. However, <u>patients must <em>first<\/em> be assessed and approved by a Tzu Chi doctor.<\/u><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To register with Tzu Chi Clinic, you must present your UNHCR card or a valid passport.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u26a0\ufe0f If you wish to receive medical assistance or reimbursement from the Tzu Chi Clinic, please contact them to consult about your conditions and medical reimbursement criteria<u> before getting outside medical treatment<\/u>.&nbsp; <em>Only pre-approved<\/em> medical treatments\/assistance can be reimbursed, except for some medical emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f <a href=\"https:\/\/help.unhcr.org\/thailand\/our-partners\/\">Please contact Tzu Chi Clinic for more information or to make an appointment.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-help-unhcr-q-and-a-inner q-and-a-inner accordion-item my-10 active\" id=\"qa-22\" data-item-content=\"q-and-a-item-2\" itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\"><h3 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"q-and-a-item-2\"><button class=\"accordion-button bg-info collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-qa-22-2\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-qa-22-2\"><span class=\"accordion-count\">2<\/span><span class=\"q-and-a__box-title fw-bolder fs-3\">Can I receive medical treatment at a public and private hospitals? \u2b07\ufe0f<\/span><\/button><\/h3><div id=\"collapse-qa-22-2\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" aria-labelledby=\"q-and-a-item-2\" data-bs-parent=\"\"><div class=\"accordion-body py-16 px-20\" itemscope itemprop=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n<p>Asylum-seekers and refugees can access medical care at Thai government hospitals and private hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hospitals require an identification document for registration<\/strong>.&nbsp; While most hospitals will request a passport, some hospitals may register the patient based on a UNHCR card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Costs of medical care vary widely<\/strong>.&nbsp; Government hospitals are generally more affordable than private hospitals.&nbsp; As noted above, except in some emergency cases, <strong>reimbursement from Tzu Chi Foundation Clinic for hospital costs requires <em>pre-approval<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-help-unhcr-q-and-a-inner q-and-a-inner accordion-item my-10 active\" id=\"qa-22\" data-item-content=\"q-and-a-item-3\" itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\"><h3 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"q-and-a-item-3\"><button class=\"accordion-button bg-info collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-qa-22-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-qa-22-3\"><span class=\"accordion-count\">3<\/span><span class=\"q-and-a__box-title fw-bolder fs-3\">What medical support is there for pregnancy and childbirth? \u2b07\ufe0f<\/span><\/button><\/h3><div id=\"collapse-qa-22-3\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" aria-labelledby=\"q-and-a-item-3\" data-bs-parent=\"\"><div class=\"accordion-body py-16 px-20\" itemscope itemprop=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n<p>It is important that you and your baby get medical checks and any needed treatment early in your pregnancy and that you know what kind of support you can access for the delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Medical care for you and the baby while you are pregnant (antenatal care):<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tzu Chi Foundation (TCF) can support antenatal care for any pregnancy through their obstetrics\/gynecology clinic, which operates at Tzu Chi Free Clinic four times a month.&nbsp; Please make sure to reserve an appointment online <a href=\"https:\/\/tzuchithailand.org\/freeclinic\/reservation\/\">here.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>JRS provides very limited assistance with preparing the information needed for the hospital birth notice and birth certificate, including translation of identity documents required by the District Office to issue the birth certificate. Contact JRS for more information on this.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-help-unhcr-q-and-a-inner q-and-a-inner accordion-item my-10 active\" id=\"qa-22\" data-item-content=\"q-and-a-item-4\" itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\"><h3 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"q-and-a-item-4\"><button class=\"accordion-button bg-info collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-qa-22-4\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-qa-22-4\"><span class=\"accordion-count\">4<\/span><span class=\"q-and-a__box-title fw-bolder fs-3\">How do I get reimbursed for medical treatments? \u2b07\ufe0f<\/span><\/button><\/h3><div id=\"collapse-qa-22-4\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" aria-labelledby=\"q-and-a-item-4\" data-bs-parent=\"\"><div class=\"accordion-body py-16 px-20\" itemscope itemprop=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n<p>Please review the services and criteria for Tzu Chi Clinic explained in the section \u201cWhat does Tzu Chi Foundation Clinic cover?\u201d&nbsp; Generally, reimbursements are only given for <em>pre-approved<\/em> medical costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If the Tzu Chi doctor decides that you need out-patient medical care<\/strong> (this can be tests, specialized doctors, or medication) that Tzu Chi Clinic cannot provide, the Tzu Chi Clinic will refer you to a hospital for the needed care.&nbsp; You will have to pay at the hospital, but you can ask for reimbursement from Tzu Chi Clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>**TZU CHI CLINIC WILL ONLY REIMBURSE CASES THAT WERE REFERRED TO THE HOSPITAL BY TZU CHI CLINIC**<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you pay for medical treatment that Tzu Chi Clinic did not refer you for, you will not be reimbursed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, if you require <strong>urgent medical attention<\/strong> that cannot wait, <a href=\"https:\/\/help.unhcr.org\/thailand\/our-partners\/\">contact Tzu Chi as soon as possible<\/a> to inform them, and they will decide if reimbursement can be made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If your doctor recommends in-patient medical services <\/strong>(this usually means major medical interventions and that you have to spend at least one night at the hospital), please note that there are very limited funds for such procedures and they are approved on a case-by-case basis only. Please contact Tzu Chi <u>before<\/u> scheduling any in-patient procedures. Tzu Chi will review your case and let you know if the costs can be covered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><em>Not all in-patient costs can be
