UNHCR will advocate for your right to non-refoulement to be respected. The Royal Thai Government is responsible for implementing this right in Thailand.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>All the information you provide to UNHCR is treated as CONFIDENTIAL. <\/strong>Your details and any information related to your claim will not be shared outside of UNHCR without your consent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are detained at an<strong> Immigration Detention Centre, <\/strong>you will have access to some basic services.&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/help.unhcr.org\/thailand\/protection\/detention-deportation\/\">For more information, please see the Detention and Deportation section<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-white-color has-text-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#0072bc\">What are my OBLIGATIONS as an asylum-seeker or refugee?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Comply with Thai laws.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you overstay your visa or enter Thailand illegally, the Royal Thai Government will consider you to be an \u201cillegal immigrant.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you commit a criminal offence, UNHCR status does not protect you from being detained or prosecuted.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inform UNHCR immediately if you change your address or telephone number<\/strong>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Always provide accurate, truthful information to UNHCR<\/strong> and <strong>cooperate fully with UNHCR<\/strong> in your refugee application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Be on time<\/strong> for your appointments with UNHCR<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Take good care of your UNHCR card. <\/strong>You should always carry your original UNHCR card with you&nbsp; and never let others use or take away your UNHCR card. In case of loss or damage to your UNHCR card, please inform UNHCR immediately.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#0072bc\"><strong>For your safety and well-being, you are highly encouraged to<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>RESPECT Thai culture and customs<\/strong>.&nbsp; Many people are arrested because of behaviour\/disturbances that lead neighbours to seek police intervention.&nbsp; Protection begins with <strong>YOU<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Avoid any unnecessary travel<\/strong> and avoid leaving your residence late at night.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Avoid demonstrating <\/strong>in public places, government buildings, embassies and the United Nations Building.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Avoid engaging in political activities <\/strong>that draw unnecessary attention, including online political activism.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Avoid personal conflicts or quarrels.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Not make excessive noise<\/strong> late at night or early in the morning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Not live or gather<\/strong> in large groups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What are my RIGHTS as an asylum-seeker or refugee?
