It’s a good idea to talk to your parents or a trusted adult first, but you can also contact us on your own. Don’t forget to tell us your name, age and phone\/whatsapp number or @ email address, or any other way to contact you. It’s also a good idea to tell us the names of your parents if they are in Senegal with you. If you’re not with your parents, you can tell us too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is not always easy or possible to find missing persons, or to reunite families, but children have the right to be with their parents and families. If you are not with your parents, it is good to let us know so that we can help you stay safe in Senegal. We can also try to help you find them and get in touch with them with the help of the Red Cross Senegal (ICRC)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your parents or relatives in these countries should contact the government of their country to start the procedure. Every child has the right to go to school. You don’t need any documents and you don’t have to pay extra compared to Senegalese children. If you’re not going to school right now, the first thing you need to do is enroll in school. You may have to wait until a specific time of year to register. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you and your family have a card or other document (ask your parents or caregiver if you are unsure), you must go to the school closest to your home and register. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No one has the right to abuse, neglect or mistreat a child, not even their parents, families or teachers. <\/strong>If someone has hurt you or touched you in a way that makes you uncomfortable, or if you’re afraid someone will, some organizations can help. If you contact UNHCR, we will do our best to help you. You can also call UNHCR or the GVF, which is responsible for the protection of refugee children.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
