The Family Reunification process is not free of charge<\/strong>.<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.udi.no\/en\/want-to-apply\/family-immigration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">R<\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.udi.no\/en\/want-to-apply\/family-immigration\/\" target=\"_blank\">ead more about this here.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is also an income requirement for the family member living in Norway. You can read more about that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.udi.no\/en\/word-definitions\/income-requirement-in-family-immigration-cases-\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of 1 January 2025, the income requirement in family immigration cases has changed. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.udi.no\/en\/important-messages\/changed-income-requirement-in-family-immigration-cases\/\"><strong>Read more about this here.<\/strong><\/a><a id=\"_msocom_1\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How can I apply for family reunification if a close family member was granted asylum in Norway?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If your family member was granted asylum (protection) in Norway as a refugee, you can apply for family reunification without the income requirement, providing that you meet <strong><u>two application deadlines<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You, as the person applying for family reunification from outside Norway, <strong>must register your application on UDI\u2019s website within <u>six months<\/u> of your family member in Norway being granted a residence permit<\/strong>. You must also pay a fee when registering your application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will then be informed where you need to go to hand in the documents required in the country you are in.
