Family Tracing

The protection of family unity is an important human right. If you were separated from your family before or during your journey, you may apply for them to join you in Myanmar.

If you are an internally displaced person, refugee, asylum-seeker or returnee in Myanmar aiming to reunite with your family in Myanmar or another country, you can reach out to the UNHCR family reunification focal points in these locations by selecting the country of interest on the Help homepage.

Who can help you in the family reunification process in Myanmar?

If you have lost contact with a family member and need help finding them, you can contact the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC):

Contact Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 to 16:30

I have not heard from one of my family members, and I am worried that he/she may have been abducted or arrested. Can UNHCR help me?

It is advisable to contact the hotline provided by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Please note that ICRC exclusively responds to requests for assistance from immediate family members. This means that UNHCR is not authorized to make a request on your behalf.
