naturalization process, <strong>make sure that all your information is up to date with the INM.<\/strong> If your information is not updated, your application could be affected.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply for naturalization, <strong>you must be 18 years old<\/strong> and meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-background\" style=\"background-color:#cce2f3\"><strong>1. <strong>Time of residence in Mexico<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>2 years<\/strong> if you are from a Latin American country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>5 years<\/strong> if you are from another country or if you are stateless.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>In both cases, <strong>starting from the issuance of permanent residence.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-background\" style=\"background-color:#cce2f3\"><strong>2. <strong>Documents<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>COMAR recommendation letter for naturalization.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Permanent resident card.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Birth certificate.<\/strong> (If you don\u2019t have it, submit the recommendation letter issued by COMAR.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Original passport<\/strong> (with at least 6 months of validity) or <strong>Identity and Travel Document (DIV).<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>If your passport was issued less than 2 years ago, request the <strong>Migration Flows document<\/strong> from INM.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Valid CURP<\/strong>, printed from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.mx\/curp\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.gob.mx\/curp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RENAPO website<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Record of entries and exits<\/strong> for the time you have lived in Mexico.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/bjTmU5HljuE?si=dohyWj-CVkoByPTe\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/bjTmU5HljuE?si=dohyWj-CVkoByPTe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federal and local criminal background checks.<\/a><\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Proof of payment<\/strong> to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-background\" style=\"background-color:#cce2f3\"><strong>3. <strong>Exams<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Mexican History exam<\/strong> (only for people with complementary protection or stateless persons).\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Refugees do <strong>not<\/strong> need to take this exam.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Spanish exam<\/strong> if Spanish is not spoken in your country of origin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-background\" style=\"background-color:#cce2f3\"><strong>4. <strong>Photographs<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>2 passport\u2011size photos (4.5 x 3.5 cm):<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In color, matte paper, white background.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No earrings, no glasses, head uncovered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator
