class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before starting your naturalization process, your <strong>CURP must be valid and up to date<\/strong> and <strong>make sure that all your information is up to date with the INM.<\/strong> If your information is not updated, your application could be affected.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To apply for naturalization, <strong>you must be 18 years old<\/strong> and meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-background\" style=\"background-color:#cce2f3\"><strong>1. <strong>Time of residence in Mexico<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>2 years<\/strong> if you are from a Latin American country or from the Iberian Peninsula.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>5 years<\/strong> if you are from another country or if you are stateless.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>In both cases, <strong>starting from the issuance of permanent residence.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-background\" style=\"background-color:#cce2f3\"><strong>2. <strong>Documents<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Permanent resident card.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><strong>Naturalization Application Form<\/strong> SRE-02-011 duly completed.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Download it from the <a href=\"https:\/\/portales.sre.gob.mx\/tramites-dgaj\/naturalizacion\/carta-de-naturalizacion-por-ser-originario-de-un-pais-latinoamericano-o-de-la-peninsula-iberica\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/portales.sre.gob.mx\/tramites-dgaj\/naturalizacion\/carta-de-naturalizacion-por-ser-originario-de-un-pais-latinoamericano-o-de-la-peninsula-iberica\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SRE Procedures Portal.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><strong>COMAR recommendation letter.<\/strong><\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1\">Requirement only for refugees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Birth Certificate<\/strong> with apostille and legalization.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2\">Requirement only for persons with complementary protection or stateless persons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Passport<\/strong> or <strong>Identity and Travel Document (DIV)<\/strong> (with at least 45 days of validity remaining).\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If your passport or DIV was issued less than 2 years ago, request your Migration Movements Record from the INM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/bjTmU5HljuE?si=dohyWj-CVkoByPTe\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/bjTmU5HljuE?si=dohyWj-CVkoByPTe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Federal Criminal Record Certificate<\/strong> and its certification.<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><strong>Local Criminal Record Certificate<\/strong><\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Proof of payment<\/strong> to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator <strong>pre\u2011registration<\/strong>: Enter your information in the <strong>Integrated Nationality and Naturalization System (SINNA)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the date for your appointment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Print your appointment confirmation<\/strong> and bring it with you on the day of your appointment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-background\" style=\"background-color:#fdf799\"><strong>Examinations<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following examinations are administered on the day of your appointment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Mexican History<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3\">Requirement only for persons with complementary protection or stateless persons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Refugees, persons over 60 years of age, and minors are exempt from this
