You can apply for asylum to a border guard (<strong>State Border Guard Service<\/strong>) in any border point at Lithuania\u2019s border when entering the country. You can apply for asylum no matter if you do not have a valid visa, travel documents or a Lithuanian residence permit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the Lithuanian territory you may apply for asylum either at the State Border Guard Service Units or the <strong>Migration Department<\/strong>. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/migracija.lrv.lt\/en\/structure-and-contacts\/information-for-visitors\" target=\"_blank\">You can find the local offices of the Migration Department and their contact information and opening hours on the website of the Migration Department.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are in Belarus and you are not a citizen of that country, you can also apply for asylum in Lithuania at the <a href=\"https:\/\/by.mfa.lt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Belarus<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information regarding the asylum procedure in Lithuania, please visit the websites of the Migration Department, available in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.migracija.lt\/noriu-gauti-prieglobst%C4%AF-lr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">English<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.migracija.lt\/noriu-gauti-prieglobst%C4%AF-lr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lithuanian<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All matters concerning the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.migracija.lt\/en\/noriu-gauti-prieglobst%C4%AF-lr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">asylum procedure<\/a> are managed by the Lithuanian authorities according to the national rules and regulations and with trained and competent national officials specialised in asylum matters.
