Refugees are recognized not only as beneficiaries of assistance, but also as active contributors to their communities and local development. Refugee-Led Organizations play a critical role in identifying community needs, delivering locally led solutions, and strengthening self-reliance, social cohesion, and protection outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this call, UNHCR seeks to support innovative and impactful projects that address community-identified priorities and strengthen the leadership and participation of refugees and host communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Priority Areas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants are invited to submit concept notes under one of the following thematic areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Projects should focus on one of the following areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Protection:<\/strong> community-based protection, GBV prevention, child protection, psychosocial support, legal assistance, social cohesion, community engagement, gender equality and women&#8217;s empowerment, disability Inclusion, MHPSS, youth engagement, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Education:<\/strong> school enrolment and retention, scholarships, mentorship, referrals, and youth education support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Livelihoods &amp; Economic Inclusion<\/strong>: entrepreneurship, skills development, employment promotion, social enterprises, digital economy, and climate-smart livelihood initiatives, environment and climate actions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Grant Information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maximum grant amount: USD 12,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implementation period: Up to 12 months<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Project locations: Nairobi, Nakuru, or Mombasa\/Coastal Area<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who Can Apply?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizations must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be a registered Refugee-Led Organization (RLO) or Refugee-Led Social Enterprise in Kenya;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate that more than 50% of leadership positions are held by refugees or asylum-seekers;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be operational in Nairobi, Nakuru, or Mombasa\/Coastal Area;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate experience or community engagement in at least one of the priority thematic areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proposed activities must not have already received funding from UNHCR or another donor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizations that do not meet the eligibility requirements will not be considered for technical review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Technical Review Selection Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible concept notes will be assessed based on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Community needs and relevance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expected impact<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quality and feasibility of the proposed intervention<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inclusion and AGD considerations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community participation and accountability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organizational capacity and experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Value for money<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Risk management and safeguarding<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants should submit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completed Kobo Application Form<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload Project Concept Note (maximum 5 pages)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload proof documents:&nbsp; Registration Certificate, Governance Structure, Safeguarding\/PSEA Policies (where available).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline:<\/strong> 30 August 2026, 23:59 EAT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Apply here:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Application form: <a href=\"https:\/\/enketo.unhcr.org\/x\/bZmcEpKB\">Link of KOBO tool<\/a>.
