Disability and psychosocial support

Due to COVID 19, UNHCR and partners have revised their way of providing specialized services which include mental health and psychosocial support and services to persons living with disabilities. Currently, partners including Jesuit Refugee Services (JRS), Center for Victims of Torture (CVT), Humanity & Inclusion (HI known previously as Handicap International), IsraAid are providing occupational therapy services for identified persons with disabilities at the community level during home visits and tele-counselling services to persons with mental health challenges and those living with disabilities. Persons with mental illnesses can access services at health facilities throughout Kakuma and Kalobeyei.

You can also access rehabilitative therapy services in HI centers in Kakuma 1, 2, 3 and 4 and in Kalobeyei Village 1, which are open between Monday to Friday 8 am – 5 pm.
