It offers information on all UNHCR activities and recent updates on changes in procedures. Refugees of all nationalities can call the UNHCR Helpline, offered in three languages: <strong>Arabic<\/strong><strong>, English and Somali<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Operating <strong>24 hours<\/strong> a day, <strong>7 days<\/strong> a week, an Interactive Voice Response system will help you find the answer to your question with a reduced waiting time. The system takes the necessary action without the need to speak to a Helpline agent.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency calls will be transferred to a Helpline agent immediately. Agents are available from <strong>Sunday<\/strong> to <strong>Thursday<\/strong>, <strong>8AM<\/strong> to <strong>4PM<\/strong>. If you do not find the services you need through the Interactive Voice Response, you will then have the option to be transferred to an agent.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to update your phone number<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Kindly note that it is the refugee responsibility to update UNHCR with&nbsp;<strong>one primary phone number<\/strong>&nbsp;which will be the main number that UNHCR will contact you on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To update your primary phone number, please follow below steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dial 06 400 8000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose your language: for Arabic, press 1. for English, press 2, for Somali, press 3.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select option number 1 (if you are registered with UNHCR and have file number).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select option number 1 from the main menu: Services Menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Afterwards, select option number 3: Registration Services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then select option number 3: Issues related to phone number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then select option number 1 (To update your primary phone number).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your 10-digit phone number; phone number should be in the following format:\u00a0<strong>07XXXXXXXX.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the entered number is the same as the one recorded on your file, you will hear an automated message and the call will be ended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the entered number is not the same as the one recorded on your file, you have to re-enter your 10-digit phone number for verification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After the phone number is updated on your file, you will receive a confirmation message with the added phone number.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-cyan-blue-color has-text-color\"> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/help.unhcr.org\/jordan\/en\/\">Click here to go back to Welcome page.<\/a><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\"> <strong>Please note that ALL services provided by UNHCR, including registration, are provided for FREE. <a href=\"https:\/\/help.unhcr.org\/jordan\/how-to-report-sea\/\">For more on reporting fraud, abuse and exploitation, please check our site<\/a>.<\/strong> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>06-400 8000 The UNHCR Helpline (064008000) is a call service provided by UNHCR Jordan which refugees can use to ask any questions or file complaints related to being a refugee in Jordan.
