If you are an asylum seeker,\u00a0a\u00a0refugee\u00a0or\u00a0you\u00a0hold subsidiary or temporary protection\u00a0status, you are\u00a0entitled to\u00a0access health services on\u00a0the same basis as\u00a0Italian citizens.\u00a0You\u00a0must\u00a0register with the Italian public healthcare system (SSN \u2013 Sistema\u00a0sanitario\u00a0nazionale), together\u00a0with\u00a0your\u00a0family members.\u00a0The\u00a0registration is\u00a0carried out at the\u00a0local\u00a0public\u00a0healthcare office (ASL\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Azienda\u00a0sanitaria locale\u00a0or ASP \u2013\u00a0Azienda\u00a0sanitaria\u00a0provinciale)\u00a0of the place where\u00a0you are\u00a0living. Once registered,\u00a0you will receive a health card (Tessera\u00a0sanitaria)\u00a0and you will have the right to: a family doctor\u00a0(or pediatrician for children under 14 years old), specialized\u00a0medical\u00a0visits\u00a0in case of need, blood tests and vaccinations,\u00a0hospitalization, and other\u00a0different kind of health treatments, depending on your needs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When you approach an ASL\/ASP you can also ask for more specific information on specialized health care, including mental health support, that you can book through the healthcare booking services of your local ASL\/ASP (CUP \u2013 Centro Unico Prenotazioni). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
