The UN has <strong>ZERO-TOLERANCE<\/strong> for sexual exploitation and abuse.<strong>\u202f<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>What is\u202f<\/strong><\/em><strong><em>sexual exploitation?<\/em><\/strong><em>\u202f<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any actual\u202f<em>or attempted<\/em>\u202fabuse of a position of vulnerability, differential power, or trust for sexual purposes. It includes trafficking for sexual reasons and prostitution.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>What is\u202fs<\/strong><\/em><strong><em>exual abuse?<\/em><\/strong><em>\u202f<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any actual\u202f<em>or threatened<\/em>\u202fsexual intrusion carried out either by force or under unequal or coercive conditions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>United Nations staff and partners must not :<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have sexual activity with anyone in exchange for money, employment, preferential treatment, goods or services\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have sexual activity with any child under the age of 18 years old\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage in any other form of sexually humiliating, degrading, or exploitative behaviour.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u2192 Remember that <\/strong>s<\/em><strong><em>exual exploitation and abuse can happen to anyone and anywhere\u2014men, women, boys, and girls\u2014at any age, with or without a disability, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender \u2190<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to report Sexual Exploitation and Abuse<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are aware of, have witnessed or are subjected to sexual exploitation and abuse by UNHCR, UN or partner organisations <strong>you can report directly to<\/strong>:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UNHCR\u2019s Inspector General\u2019s Office based in UNHCR Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland by:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>using the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unhcr.org\/igo-complaints.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">online complaint form<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>confidential email:\u202f<a href=\"mailto:inspector@unhcr.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">inspector@unhcr.org<\/a>\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confidential fax:\u202f+41 22 739 7380\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Regular mail:\u202f94, rue de Montbrillant, Case postale 2500, 1211 Geneva, Switzerland\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>the IGO keeps the information it receives confidential &#8211;<\/em>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To contact UNHCR to have more information about sexual exploitation and abuse, or for any other concern and complaint, please call us +32 (0) 472 18 92 65, Tuesday from 9.30 to 12.30.\u00a0<br>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Ireland, sexual exploitation and abuse should also be reported to the national authorities, in particualr An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na (national police)\u202f:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In an emergency please call 999 \/ 112.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also contact the police:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At your local Garda station\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By telephone on 1800 666 111 daily from 9am to 9pm.
