{"id":1870,"date":"2023-03-20T06:19:14","date_gmt":"2023-03-20T06:19:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/help.unhcr.org\/iran\/?p=1870"},"modified":"2023-03-20T06:19:15","modified_gmt":"2023-03-20T06:19:15","slug":"universal-public-health-insurance-uphi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/help.unhcr.org\/iran\/en\/2023\/03\/20\/universal-public-health-insurance-uphi\/","title":{"rendered":"Universal Public Health Insurance (UPHI)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The 9th Cycle of the UPHI scheme has started countrywide (from 25 February 2023) and the scheme is open and accessible to all Amayesh and Hoviat card holders.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Vulnerable:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vulnerable refugees (including refugees with Special Diseases &#8211; such as Haemophilia, Thalassemia, Renal Failure, Kidney Transplant and Multiple Sclerosis [MS]), similar to previous cycles, can approach <em>Pishkhan<\/em> centers <a>contracted with <\/a>Iran Health Insurance Organization (IHIO) countrywide and enroll in the free-of-charge health insurance coverage from 25 February 2023 \u2013 24 February 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Premium payers:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per previous cycles, other refugees holding <em>Amayesh<\/em> and <em>Hoviat<\/em> cards can also approach <em>Pishkhan<\/em> centers contracted with IHIO countrywide and by paying the ratified premium fee, to enroll in the UPHI scheme and receive health insurance coverage with a duration of 12 months from the date of enrolment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Note:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"a\"><li>To know if you fall under vulnerable or premium payer category,<strong> <\/strong>please approach your nearest <em>Pishkhan<\/em> centers contracted with IHIO countrywide or call contact No. 1666 (IHIO\u2019s dedicated operator for UPHI) and check your vulnerability status. Enrollment in the scheme takes place at \u00a0<em>Pishkhan<\/em> centers. <\/li><li>Refugees can benefit from a 12-month health insurance coverage.<\/li><li>All refugees should ensure that when approaching <em>Pishkhan<\/em> centers, pre-registration is conducted at the time of enrolment. <\/li><li>All diagnostic and treatment services for refugees are covered in all hospitals contracted with IHIO countrywide, similar to Iranians.<\/li><li>All refugees who have enrolled in the Universal Public Health Insurance scheme can receive medical services through online prescription services by providing their Identity Cards (valid <em>Amayesh<\/em>\/<em>Hoviat<\/em>Card or Laissez-Passer) and shall be referred to medical centers, who will verify access to UPHI in the system.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 9th Cycle of the UPHI scheme has started countrywide (from 25 February 2023) and the scheme is open and accessible to all Amayesh and Hoviat card holders.
