What is fraud?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Fraud is any act, omission, or manipulation of a fact with the intent to deceive for personal gain or for a third party\u2019s benefit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n



Don’t be fooled! Don’t fall for false promises!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If anyone on behalf of UNHCR or its partners offers you support to leave the country, such as obtaining documents, monetary support, requesting money or favors, this may be a false or fraudulent promise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be alert:<\/strong> these offers may be presented in person or through social networks, including Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, Twitter and TikTok.

Remember:<\/strong> UNHCR staff members and our partners are properly identified. When in doubt and before sharing your personal information, ask to see identification. If you suspect it is fake, report it!<\/strong>

Report irregular or suspicious behavior<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you know of or suspect fraud, corruption, bribery, theft or embezzlement by UNHCR officials or our partners, please report it through our official and confidential channels:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
