Misconduct\nis defined as the failure by a staff member to abide by these rules and\nregulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Possible misconduct can include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sexual exploitation and abuse of people of concern;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fraud (e.g. falsifying a document);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Corruption (e.g. taking money from refugees or others);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Theft and embezzlement (e.g. stealing equipment or money);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Harassment;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assault, threats or retaliation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Acts or behaviour that would discredit UNHCR;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-compliance with local laws.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-very-light-gray-color has-text-color has-background has-normal-font-size\" style=\"background-color:#0072bc\"><strong>What is sexual exploitation and\nabuse?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our position is clear, and has been reiterated on a number of occasions by our High Sexual exploitation and abuse occur when humanitarian workers abuse their positions of power or the trust of refugees, asylum seekers, or migrants to obtain sexual relations or favors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Offering money, shelter, food, or other goods or services to anyone in a vulnerable situation in exchange for sexual relations or sexual favors is&nbsp;<strong>sexual exploitation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The threat, use of force, or intimidation to engage in sexual relations or to obtain sexual favors from anyone in a position of unequal power is&nbsp;<strong>sexual abuse<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-very-light-gray-color has-text-color has-background has-normal-font-size\" style=\"background-color:#0072bc\"><strong>How to report misconduct or sexual exploitation and abuse&nbsp;by humanitarian workers?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You have the right to file a complaint or report in person, anonymously, or on behalf of another person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u03a4o report any incident related to sexual exploitation and abuse to <strong>UNHCR Greece<\/strong>,<strong> <\/strong>please send an email to <a href=\"mailto:psea@unhcr.org\">greatpsea@unhcr.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports of misconduct by a <strong>UNHCR staff member<\/strong>, <strong>United Nations staff member<\/strong>, <strong>or anyone with a contractual link to the United Nations (for example, NGO staff)<\/strong><em>,<\/em> can also be made directly to the UNHCR\u2019s Inspector General\u2019s Office (IGO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Strict confidentiality standards as well as other standards and procedural safeguards apply to investigations conducted by the Inspector General\u2019s Office. The IGO safeguards the confidentiality of the identity of the person from whom or the entity from which it receives a report of possible misconduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Confidential email:&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:inspector@unhcr.org?subject=UNHCR%20Complaint\"><strong>Email IGO<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By using the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unhcr.org\/igo-complaints.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Online Complaint Form<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Important note before sending a complaint:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Investigation Service of the IGO does not have the authority to deal with protection\/assistance related requests. This means that the IGO cannot review individual refugee claims, cannot provide individuals with assistance (in kind or in cash), and cannot provide applicants with a durable solution.
