Important Information for Those Considering Applying for Asylum in Georgia<\/strong> <\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of October 27, 2025, individuals wishing to apply for asylum in Georgia, obtain obtain or submit documentation from\/to the Migration Department should now approach the Martkopi Reception Center at the following location – <\/strong>https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/6hCT67yjxXgcrEjD9<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 1 October 2025, new Law on International Protection entered into force, which governs refugee status and subsidiary protection – \u10e1\u10d0\u10d4\u10e0\u10d7\u10d0\u10e8\u10dd\u10e0\u10d8\u10e1\u10dd \u10d3\u10d0\u10ea\u10d5\u10d8\u10e1 \u10e8\u10d4\u10e1\u10d0\u10ee\u10d4\u10d1 | \u10e1\u10e1\u10d8\u10de \u201d\u10e1\u10d0\u10e5\u10d0\u10e0\u10d7\u10d5\u10d4\u10da\u10dd\u10e1 \u10e1\u10d0\u10d9\u10d0\u10dc\u10dd\u10dc\u10db\u10d3\u10d4\u10d1\u10da\u10dd \u10db\u10d0\u10ea\u10dc\u10d4\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new law introduces several changes to the asylum procedure. Among them are differentiated processing tracks based on criteria set out in the law, shorter appeal timeframes, and changes to access to legal aid and protection from removal\u2014depending on which specific procedure an application is assigned to.
