In the cities of Ecuador, you can get around by bus, formal taxis, or app-based ride services. In the city of Quito, you also have access to municipal transportation such as the Trole, Ecovía, and the Quito Metro; and in Guayaquil, you have the Metrovía and the Cable Car.
In rural parishes, you can find buses or pickup trucks that run regular routes, but with less frequency.
For travel between cities or provinces, use the official bus terminals and purchase tickets at authorized ticket counters. Remember to verify the schedules directly at the bus terminals.

🔴 Tulcán – Manta: 20 dollars
🔴 Tulcán – Guayaquil: 17 dollars

When using transportation, try to take buses and taxis at official stops, terminals, or safe points; avoid getting in at isolated or poorly lit places. Do not display valuable items and keep your belongings visible at all times. If possible, make long trips during the daytime.
If you are a senior adult or have a disability, you have the right to pay half fare on public transportation.
Whenever you travel, remember to carry physical copies or photos of your visa or proof that you have applied for refugee status!
