This means that it is possible to apply for and benefit from temporary protection in the EU until this date. If you already have temporary protection in an EU country, your status will be extended until 4 March 2027. You may be eligible for a <strong>temporary residence permit<\/strong> in Denmark if you are a:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a citizen of Ukraine who used to live in Ukraine and had to flee the country on 1&nbsp;February 2022 or after, and is currently in Denmark or staying on the Faroe Islands,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a foreigner in Ukraine who had refugee status in Ukraine on 24 February 2022 and had to flee the country on 24 February 2022 or after,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a citizen of Ukraine or a foreigner or stateless person who had refugee status in Ukraine on 24 February 2022 and who was staying in Denmark or had a residence permit in Denmark on 24 February 2022,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a close family member to a person in Denmark who has been granted a residence permit under the Danish law on residence permits for refugees from Ukraine (called the \u201cSpecial Act\u201d).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Under Danish rules, the following persons are considered \u201cclose family members\u201d: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a spouse or partner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>underage unmarried child (under 18 years old)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>other close relatives who lived in the same household and were dependent of the Ukrainian citizen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to apply for Temporary Protection in Denmark<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Please need to fill out an application form (SL1) for all the options indicated above<strong>.<\/strong> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blanket.nyidanmark.dk\/xform\/formularer\/sl1b.form.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">You can complete and <\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blanket.nyidanmark.dk\/xform\/formularer\/sl1b.form.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">submit<\/a> the form online. When you do so, you will automatically receive an electronic receipt to prove that you have submitted the application online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also print the form and fill it out by hand. If you choose this option, then you need to <a href=\"https:\/\/selvbetjening.kubedata.dk\/us-xf\/tidsbestilling?anonym=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">book an appointment<\/a> with the <a href=\"https:\/\/nyidanmark.dk\/de-DE\/Contact-us\/Contact-the-Danish-Immigration-Service\/Citizen-Service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Danish Immigration Service\u2019s Citizen Service<\/a>, and choose the closest location to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have children under 18 who also wish to apply for a temporary residence permit, you must include their information in the same form. You do not need to make a separate application for your children if they are under 18 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We recommend that you <strong>prepare the documents you need before you start filling out the form<\/strong>. For example, your passport or other identity documents, your family members\u2019 passports or identity documents, your documents showing that you were granted refugee status in Ukraine, etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision to grant a temporary residence permit to Ukrainians in Denmark and issue a residence permit is made by the <strong>Danish Immigration Service (DIS)<\/strong>. The Danish Immigration Service will send you a letter to the address that you have provided to them upon registration as soon as they have made a decision on your application. The Danish Immigration Service will also contact you if they need further information from you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Danish Immigration Service tries to make decisions as soon as possible. They cannot give a specific timeline for decisions because of the high number of applications. It will depend on whether they have all the information they need or need more information from you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Information, rights and obligations for Temporary Protection from Ukraine in Denmark<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If <strong>you have been granted a temporary residence permit in Denmark<\/strong>, you can find information on your <strong>rights and obligations<\/strong> on the website of the Danish Immigration Service, available in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyidanmark.dk\/uk-UA\/ReceivedReply\/Ukraine\/Ja%20Ukraine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ukrainian<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyidanmark.dk\/en-GB\/You-have-received-an-answer\/Ukraine\/Ja-Ukraine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">English<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyidanmark.dk\/da\/ReceivedReply\/Ukraine\/Ja%20Ukraine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Danish<\/a>. There you will find information on how to appeal the negative decision, if you can apply for other types of residence permits or asylum, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If <strong>you are not eligible for a temporary residence permit in Denmark<\/strong>, it may be possible for you to apply for asylum or remain in Denmark on other grounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pension Verification Requirement for Ukrainian Refugees<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to recent legislative changes in Ukraine, <strong>all Ukrainian pensioners residing abroad must complete a verification procedure<\/strong> in order to continue receiving pension payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Complete Verification<\/strong><br>You can complete the procedure through one of the following modalities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1. Videoconference Verification via the PFU Portal<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You may request a video call via the PFU portal or by calling the hotline: <strong>0800 503 753<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Calls are usually scheduled within 10\u201330 days and conducted via Google Meet, WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, Viber, or Zoom.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will be asked to present your original passport\/ID and pension certificate during the call .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>3. Verification at a Ukrainian Consulate<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visit the nearest Ukrainian consulate to confirm your identity and place of residence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will receive a <strong>certificate of identity<\/strong>, which you can upload via the PFU portal to complete verification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>4. In-Person Verification in Ukraine<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you are currently in Ukraine, you can visit any PFU service centre. <br><strong>Please note:<\/strong> Due to the suspension of thousands of pensions in January 2026, long queues are currently reported nationwide.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional Requirement for Pensioners from Temporarily Occupied Territories (ToTs)<\/strong><br>If you are from the ToTs, you must confirm that you are <strong>not receiving a pension from the Russian Federation<\/strong>, by doing one of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Selecting the relevant declaration box in your PFU online account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stating this explicitly during videoconference verification<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sending a written declaration by email or postal mail to the PFU<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After completing all steps, <strong>please verify that your PFU personal account reflects the correct date of verification and declaration<\/strong>.
