Information and services for survivors of violence

You have the RIGHT to be safe and enjoy life free of any form of violence.

If you have experienced violence, or fear that you may become a victim, or you know somebody else who experienced it –  you can report it and receive assistance and protection.

If you believe that your human rights have been violated, you can contact the Croatian Ombudsperson at: [email protected]. This is an independent institution which protects human rights in Croatia.  Further information is available here.

If you have suffered mistreatment by Croatian police in connection with irregular entry, you can also report it to the Croatian Independent Monitoring Mechanism through the form available in several languages at this link. The purpose of the Independent Monitoring Mechanism is to contribute to the respect of fundamental rights by monitoring the actions taken by police officers in the area of border surveillance, irregular migration and international protection.
