Universities with selective processes open all year for undergraduate courses

The Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) and the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM) have processes open all year for undergraduate courses for refugees.

Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP)

Located in the city of Campinas, São Paulo, UNICAMP offers throughout the year an opportunity for refugees to apply for an undergraduate course. To apply, it is necessary that the refugee person has already obtained the status of refugee recognized by CONARE and provided all the documents listed on the site.

After the request is filed in the DAC Attendance, the documentation submitted will be analyzed by an Evaluation Committee established by the Rector’s Office and published in the Official Gazette of the State of São Paulo (DOESP). In the event of an acceptance of the request, the DAC will contact the applicant to inform about the registration procedures.

Attention: You will not be allowed to enter the vacancy request only with the protocol of request of refuge visa, and the applicant must wait until the conclusion of your request by Conare.

There are no guaranteed vacancies for people with Refuge status. The granting of the vacancy will depend on the analysis of the documentation provided by the Commission established and the maximum limit of students that each course allows.

Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)

Located in the city of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, UFSM offers throughout the year an opportunity for refugees to apply for an undergraduate courses. The selection is intended for the technical, technological and undergraduate courses of the university. The percentage of up to 5% of the total number of places for each course will be reserved, subject to the approval of the respective course collegiate.

Migrant workers or refugees who have completed high school or equivalent studies in the sending country (or another country where they have resided) will be admitted to apply for the vacancies. In addition, those migrants or refugees who have been unable to continue technical or higher education in the country of dispatch (or in another country where they have resided), on the grounds of migration or have already completed such equivalent studies and are not of interest to the revalidation of a diploma, will be admitted as candidates.
