The Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) has approved a regulation where undergraduate courses will have an additional vacancy for the year for refugees, asylum seekers, stateless persons, holders of temporary visas or residence permits for humanitarian reception and other persons immigrants benefiting from policies of the Brazilian government.
Once approved, the refugee will have all the rights and duties of UFMG students, including student assistance.
In addition to the Enem grades, candidates must have a high school diploma and may be called upon to take specific skills tests. PROGRAD (Pro-Rector’s Office) may require proficiency in Portuguese or the completion of a course in the language as a condition of entry or stay.
There is still no defined period to open the selection and entry processes.
