Asylum seekers are people who have had to leave their country due to a well-founded fear of being persecuted, experiencing violence, or being affected by armed conflict, whether for reasons of race, religion, nationality, political opinions, or membership in a particular social group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are in Aruba and fear returning to your country of origin, this section is designed to help you understand your rights and the process for requesting international protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-6929ab8a0cf5d1ca466b031a17064372\" style=\"background-color:#0072bc\">Remember: both the application and the appointment are free of charge. At no point should you be asked to pay for the asylum form, its processing, or to book an appointment.
