Refugee status cessation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Your refugee status may be ceased by the Migration and Citizenship Service (MCS) of Armenia for the following reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. You have voluntarily re-availed yourself of the protection of the country of your citizenship,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Having lost your citizenship, you have voluntarily restored it,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. You have acquired citizenship of the Republic of Armenia or another country and enjoy the protection of that country,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. You have voluntarily returned to the country you had left\/fled due to fear of being persecuted,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. You can no longer refuse to avail yourself of the protection of the country of your citizenship, because the circumstances due to which you were recognized as a refugee have ceased to exist.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Not having citizenship, you can return to the country of your former residence, because the circumstances due to which you were recognized as a refugee have stopped existing,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. You do not want to be considered a refugee for personal reasons.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Cessation of asylum <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The asylum granted to you by the MCS may be revoked if:
    \u2013 There are reasonable grounds to consider you a threat to the national security of the Republic of Armenia, or
    \u2013 You have been convicted of committing a serious or particularly serious crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Cancellation of refugee status<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Your refugee status will be canceled, if after granting it the MCS finds out that:
    \u2013 You should not have been granted refugee status because you do not meet the criteria stipulated by Article 6 of the Law on Refugees and Asylum.
    \u2013 During the refugee status determination procedure one of the grounds for exclusion had been applicable to you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
